The Collapse and the Die Off have already begun. This is what collapse looks like.

We see it on our screens, in our finances, our communities, and every time we step out our doors in the weather outside .

We can't stay enraged forever, so it becomes normal, just depressing, almost expected ... we attend a few additional wakes and a few less baby showers every year ... we skim the news, maybe make an additional donation, and go back to "normal" ... some kind of civilization will probably survive, but not the one we live in, and honestly this one isn't working out very well...

Excellent. 100 percent on target. The inappropriate metaphor seems appropriate here. As people like you and I write about what should be obvious and mobilizing everyone, I'm appalled at the lack of action, the unwillingness to engage even in conversation about the path we're on in my personal circles. This online community of strangers, a topic in itself that we have devolved to this, is the only place for conversations of importance. Our lives are a 24/7 disconnection from reality. People will rise up, but this time it will be too late, because the forces that are taking us down this time are the planet, not the insipid actions of other humans. We have created a monster far greater than ourselves. Here's another guy who lit himself on fire on the steps of the Supreme Court in April 2022 on Earth Day, such was his torment on how we are destroying our home. I tried to keep his memory alive a little longer. I am certain, other than friends, Wynn Alan Bruce is forgotten. They will do everything in their power to make us forget Aaron Bushnell as well. In the gentle memory of Wynn Alan Bruce, a kind man. https://geoffreydeihl.substack.com/p/climate-grief

Thanks for writing this. I find this is what it’s like if you ever try to talk about the fact that shelter is a necessity for survival but the homelessness crisis keeps getting worse. If you ever try to talk about it people are mostly just like “yeah, sad.” It’s so normalized that everyone just accepts it.

Just had a conversation with a friend about what we can do in the meta crisis we are in. Keep talking, sharing and preparing ourselves so we refuse to be manipulated into apathy and compliance . I listed to a great talk on @collapselife with Mathias Desmet about mass formation and tyranny and how to stop it. https://collapselife.substack.com/p/how-to-resist-totalitarian-control

There are so many valid concerns listed above just hitting that like button isn’t enough! BUT - we also need to be careful that we do not help Big Oil by become Climate Doomers. Climate change is a very real threat - but the moment we give up and start pushing anti-climate science memes like we’re already stuffed and going extinct is the moment we risk visiting blogs and youtube channels that are actually being funded by Big Oil!
